Kids Golf Day

Kids Summer Golf At Holiday Hills Golf Course is committed to teaching and instructing the great game of golf to children. That is why we have declared all Mondays in June and July “Kids Day”. The golf course will only be open to children who want to learn how to play golf.

My name is Tommy Fincher and I have coached in the public school system for 34 years. Many of those years were spent teaching and coaching golf. I love working with young children and feel like this would be a great way to give back to the game that I have loved for so many years. Below is a few requirements that will be asked of you as the guardian so that learning golf will be an enjoyable experience. 1. The “Kids Day” will be for all children that will be entering grade 4 though grade 11. Younger children will be permitted to use the course and receive instruction but will need an adult to help supervise. 2. If you plan on attending, you must call and register before Monday to reserve your position. Call the Holiday Hills Golf Course Pro Shop at (940) 325-8403. I am experienced with working with large groups but a cut off number will be set for safety reasons. We may also get some help from local coaches if the numbers get too large. 3. The cost will be $10 per child and that will cover snacks. If you are unable to pay this fee, contact me and we will work something out to wave the charge. 4. Each child will need his/her set of clubs. If you are unable to provide clubs, I will find a way for your child to use borrowed clubs. Note: I will need to know this beforehand so that I can make arrangements. 5. Any negative behavior will NOT be tolerated. If your child does not respond to verbal correction, he/she will not be able to attend future Mondays. Golf can be a dangerous game if rules are not followed. 6. We will start at 8:00 am, split up into groups and learn fundamentals for about an hour and a half. Different fundamentals will be covered each time along with golf etiquette, taking care of the golf course, course management, etc… Parents can pick up their children at 12:00 pm. Dress appropriate with collared shirt and bring a water bottle.
